Casey Currie at Goodwood!

2017. 06. 29.

From his first years in Anaheim Hills in California to the Baja 1000, Casey Currie, the famous American pilot, BFGoodrich® ambassador for many years now, has been chasing the dirt track all his life. We meet up with him to find out what lies ahead.

Hi Casey, could you introduce yourself?

I grew up around motors in Anaheim Hills, California. Age 5, I was racing motorcycles and by the time I was 16 I was zooming down racetracks in trucks. I'm now an off-road champion, desert racer and I started building them too.

You are coming to Goodwood, UK, for the first time...

Monster Energy has invited us over as a guest appearance and to drive our short course race truck in the event. It's a big show!

What's your feeling about off-road racing in Europe?

Europe is a totally different place to America. The fans are unbelievable and the tracks are different as the terrain has more wet land and fewer rocks. My favourite tracks are still King of the Hammer and Baja 1000, but as I'm traveling more of the world this year, maybe these answers will change!

What makes a driver have that special spark?

Focus on yourself and get the job done. And always look ahead, both in racing and in business.

And what do you value in a race?

Tires play a huge factor for traction. Without good tires, you'd be sliding all over the place. So, for off-road racing, they're a must. And what better than BFGoodrich® All-Terrain T/A KO2 Tires!
